A leading Mechanical Contractor in the Greater Philadelphia area is seeking a full-time Buyer knowledgeable in HVAC and plumbing processes and materials. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in the HVAC and plumping wholesale supply industry or similar experience working in procurement for a mechanical contractor.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain relationships with area vendors, manufacturers, and manufacturers’ representatives.

Assemble quotes from various vendors for projects. 

Negotiate and compare prices to minimize material costs.

Generate purchase orders and issue to vendors.

Work directly with Project Manager to coordinate and help minimize material orders to the job site.

Assist with incoming orders from the manufacturing shops and field and ensure materials are delivered complete and on time.

Requirements:

Minimum of five years’ experience working in the plumbing and HVAC industry.

Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing material and equipment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Team player with a jump-in-the-ditch mentality

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to doing things right the first time.

Excel & Microsoft Word experience a plus
